UN, partners call for lifting restrictions on school supplies in Gaza

The United Nations and its aid partners in Gaza called for the lifting of restrictions on school supplies so that more children can receive education, UN humanitarians said Friday.The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said it is working with partners in trying to get more children back to school and help people suffering from the effects of severe winter weather.OCHA said more than 440 learning spaces are operational, serving about 270,000 students with the help of more than 6,300 teachers.
