Banke Anticipates Higher Wheat Yield Despite Shrinking Cultivation Area
Banke. Although the land area dedicated to wheat cultivation in Banke district is decreasing annually, production is expected to increase this year. The Agriculture Knowledge Center, Banke, attributes the projected rise in output to the use of improved seeds, availability of irrigation, and favorable weather conditions.According to Santosh Pathak, Information Officer and Senior Horticulture Development Officer at the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Banke, the overall production shows a positive trend due to increased productivity despite the reduction in farmland.
Former Chairman of Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi Calls for 2083 to be a Year of Good Governance
Kathmandu. Former Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi, has emphasized that the New Year 2083 should be observed as a 'base year' for eradicating corruption, promoting good governance, and enhancing the effectiveness of public service delivery. In his New Year greeting message, he expressed his belief that the upcoming year would be established as a special year for the progress and prosperity of all Nepalis.He noted that despite repeated revolutions and movements for democracy and civil rights in Nepal's political history, the issue of good governance has remained limited to paper. Former Chairman Regmi stated,

‘यो निर्वाचनमार्फत नेपाली जनताले संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्रात्मक शासन व्यवस्थाको माध्यमद्वारा विधिको शासन, दिगो शान्ति, सुशासन, सामाजिक न्यायसहितको विकास र समृद्धिको चाहना अभिव्यक्त गरेका छन्’, उनले भनेका छन्, ‘यसका लागि हामी दृढ लक्ष्यसहित अगाडि बढ्ने संकल्प गरौँ भन्ने पनि चाहेका छन्।’
