Kathmandu. The traffic police have initiated strict surveillance on drivers who endanger the lives of passengers on the roads of the Kathmandu Valley. During a 'surprise checking' conducted as part of a special campaign on Wednesday morning, 16 drivers were penalized for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI).The traffic police, stationed at various ambush points, apprehended drivers who were intoxicated early in the morning. Notably, drivers operating in sensitive sectors such as public transport and school buses were found to be under the influence.
