The Nepali Congress Kapilvastu chapter has recommended disciplinary action, including expulsion from ordinary membership for five years, against former central committee member Deep Kumar Upadhyay for fielding his son, Ashish Sharma, as an independent candidate against the party's official decision.Upadhyay's son, Ashish, has filed an independent candidacy in Kapilvastu-1.
