Government to Amend Law for Private Sector Participation in Electricity Trading

Kathmandu. Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Sarita Dwadi, has said that preparations are underway to amend the law to allow the private sector to participate in electricity trading.Speaking at a program organized by the Independent Power Producers' Association Nepal (IPPAN), she said that the law is being amended to allow the private sector to participate not only in electricity production but also in distribution and trading.
