Twelve Candidates Secure Over 50,000 Votes in House of Representatives Election; All Belong to Rastriya Swatantra Party

Kathmandu. Twelve candidates elected in the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21 secured more than 50,000 votes under the first-past-the-post system. All candidates who received more than 50,000 votes belong to the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).The highest number of votes was secured by Balendra Shah (Balen), the candidate from Jhapa-5 for the RSP. He was elected by securing 68,348 votes. The second highest votes were secured by Indir Rana Magar, who was also the outgoing Deputy Speaker.
