Processing plant of 15 million litres capacity under construction to clean Tukucha rivulet

Kathmandu, Dec 6: A processing plant with the capacity to treat 15 million litres of water daily is under construction to clean the Tukucha rivulet, which flows through the central part of Kathmandu, before discharging it into the Bagmati.The treatment centre is being constructed on 2.53 hectares at Tripureshwor in Kathmandu and Kupandol in Lalitpur. The cost of the treatment centre being built with a concessional loan obtained through the Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s Bagmati River Basin Improvement Project is Rs 3.18 billion.The construction of the processing centre is aimed to be completed by Mid-December next year.
