Gupta had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the order of the Special Court to send him into custody for further investigation in the Lichibari bribe case in Kaski.Gupta's petition was scheduled for hearing on Tuesday in a joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Shrikanta Paudel.
