Former Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi, has emphasized that the New Year 2083 should be observed as a 'base year' for eradicating corruption, promoting good governance, and enhancing the effectiveness of public service delivery. In his New Year greeting message, he expressed his belief that the upcoming year would be established as a special year for the progress and prosperity of all Nepalis.He noted that despite repeated revolutions and movements for democracy and civil rights in Nepal's political history, the issue of good governance has remained limited to paper.
