Former NATO Chief Stoltenberg Declines Munich Security Conference Chairmanship

Kathmandu. Former NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said on Monday that he was unable to chair the Munich Security Conference to focus on his duties as Norway's Finance Minister.The 67-year-old Stoltenberg, who served a decade as head of the 'transatlantic' alliance, was appointed to lead this annual event in 2024. This is one of the largest annual gatherings on security and defense issues.He said he would not be able to take up the post after being called to the government in early 2025 by Prime Minister and his close friend Jonas Gahr Store of the Labour Party.
