Twelve Candidates Secure Over 50,000 Votes in House of Representatives Election; All Belong to Rastriya Swatantra Party
Kathmandu. Twelve candidates elected in the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21 secured more than 50,000 votes under the first-past-the-post system. All candidates who received over 50,000 votes belong to the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).The highest number of votes was secured by Balen Shah (Balen), the candidate from Jhapa-5 for the RSP. He was elected after securing 68,348 votes. The second-highest votes were secured by Indira Rana Magar, who was also the outgoing Deputy Speaker.
