India and Nepal Sign MOU for Seven High-Impact Community Development Projects
Kathmandu. The Embassy of India, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration of the Government of Nepal, and relevant implementing agencies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday for the implementation of seven High-Impact Community Development Projects. These projects, supported by a grant from the Government of India, will focus on the education, health, and agriculture sectors with a total estimated cost of 473 million Nepalese Rupees.Under these projects, cold storage facilities will be constructed in Madhyabindu Municipality of Nawalpur and Laligurans Municipality of Terhathum. UML lawmakers disrupt House of Representatives session over arrests
Kathmandu. The first meeting of the House of Representatives was disrupted immediately after it commenced. CPN-UML lawmakers stood up in protest as soon as the session began.Following the protest, senior member Arjun Narsingh KC, who was presiding over the session, granted time to UML lawmaker Guru Baral to speak.Lawmaker Baral expressed his views, stating that the government's actions are against the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal.
